TESTIMONY BY GINETTE KOLINKA
The LFPH had the honor of organizing a special videoconference with Ms. Ginette Kolinka in the auditorium, attended by students in grades 6, 8, 9, and Première.
At 101 years old, Ms. Kolinka is one of the last survivors of Auschwitz. Deported from France to this death camp with part of her family during World War II, she shared her story and her moving testimony with our students.
For nearly an hour, she recounted her life in France during the Occupation: her departure for the free zone, her arrest by the Gestapo, her time in the Drancy camp, then her deportation to the Auschwitz extermination camp, before her return to France.
The students then had the opportunity to ask her many questions in a powerful and moving exchange.
Her testimony is invaluable in passing on the memory and ensuring that we never forget.
