OUTING TO BYCAMPUS
On May 11, the students in Seconde visited the construction site of ByCampus Park, located right behind the school. It was an opportunity to strengthen the school’s ties to the local community and to learn about a major urban project in Frederiksberg.
The students spoke with two landscape architects, Ulrik Kuggas from the firm LYTT and Malene Rockall Muus from the municipality of Frederiksberg. This meeting provided an opportunity to discuss the design phases of this “skybrudspark,” a park designedto manage heavy rainfalls and limit the risk of flooding. It immersed the students in the heart of current urban planning challenges: adapting to climate change, financing public projects, new ways young people use urban spaces, and evolving professional practices in landscape architecture.
Thank you to Sophie Floris for this wonderful initiative, which bridges her Civic Education classes and her career guidance work.
