PREPARING FOR THE TASTE WEEKS
In preparation for Taste Weeks, students in maternelle PS/MS-D explored a wide range of fruits and vegetables brought in by parents for their morning snack. They discovered the different flavors: sweet, salty, bitter (coffee, cocoa) and acidic (lemon). They also ate cheese gougères, provided by a mother. MS students cooked soup (carrots – potatoes – onions – coral lentils – coconut milk – curry and cumin) and made apple compote, while PS students made pancakes.
Students also played a fruit and vegetable memory game, matching fruits and vegetables with the same colors. Finally, the children made table runners and chef’s hats for the starred chef visits.
