INTRO TO CYCLING

As part of the introduction to cycling, the students in the four maternelle classes took turns at the end of May and beginning of June, for four weeks, to assure that the children were comfortable on a vehicle (balance bike or bike with or without support wheels).

The maternelle class (PS/MS-D) therefore began with progressively more difficult courses, to learn to zigzag, go around obstacles, brake, stop, get on and off the bike, walk alongside the bike, respect others and the basic road signs, and ride on a small pallet, as well as on a sidewalk. Even if in Denmark children early learn of the importance of cycling, it was with great pride that they all brought intro-to-cycling-diploma home at the end of the week!
