      INTRO TO CYCLING

      Posted June 11, 2024

As part of the introduction to cycling, students in the four maternelle classes took turns during the four weeks at the end of May and the beginning of June, to ensure that the children were comfortable on the different bicycles (balance bike or bike with or without support wheels).

The maternelle class (PS/MS-D) gradually progressed to more difficult courses, learning to zigzag, go around obstacles, brake, stop, get on and off the bike, walk alongside the bike, respect others, the basic road signs, and to ride within the narrow lanes, as well as on a sidewalk. Children in Denmark often learn to ride bikes when they are very young, and our students were proud to bring home their Intro-to-Cycling diplomas at the end of the week.
