SCIENCE AND PUBLIC SPEAKING COMPETITION
WE ARE PROUD!
Prins Henrik School at the “Amazing Chemistry & Physics” Contest – For a Powerful Oral Presentation!
On Thursday, May 21, three of our students in Terminale participated in the videoconference final of the Amazing Chemistry & Physics: For a Powerful Oral Presentation! competition, organized by the CNRS in partnership with the Ministry of National Education, live from the Institute of Molecular Sciences in Orsay. A scientific and personal adventure from which they were all enriched!
The challenge is ambitious: to take on a popular science book dedicated to physics or chemistry, fully master its content, and present it orally before a jury composed of researchers and inspectors from the CNRS and the Ministry of National Education. A demanding exercise that combines science, critical thinking, and public speaking, directly inspired by the bac oral exam.
This 4th edition had a special flavor: for the very first time, the competition was open to French high schools abroad. Prins Henrik School is thus among the pioneers of the AEFE network to have taken the plunge—a source of great pride for our school and its students!
Gaspar Weiler, Théa Sciblo, and Keelan Ouadi represented Prins Henrik School with seriousness, enthusiasm, and talent. Each student defended their presentation before the jury with clarity and conviction, honing their analytical, argumentative, and oral communication skills in the process. Throughout the year, they benefited from the fantastic support of Marie-Anne Dejoan, who guided them and encouraged them to give their very best.
And the jury was excited! Gaspar Weiler took 2nd place in the chemistry competition with his presentation on supercapacitors—a remarkable achievement against high school students from around the world—and we are immensely proud of him!
Congratulations to Gaspar, Théa, and Keelan for their curiosity, dedication, and talent.
And a huge thank you to Marie-Anne Dejoan for supporting them with such passion!
