TRIP TO TROMSØ 2025
Our group of young researchers began their scientific trip to Norway!
On arrival, we took a walk around the town of Tromsø, located at 69°N latitude. In the morning, we were welcomed by Njål at the Tromsø Geophysical Observatory, where we were given a presentation firstly on the history of the observatory, then on the work and measurements carried out there in relation to solar activity and disturbances in the Earth’s magnetic field, responsible for the formation of polar auroras.
In the afternoon, we presented our project and our muon detector to a team of researchers from the UiT physics laboratory. We ended the day by discovering how the Planeterrella polar aurora simulator works!
Our adventures on site continue for another 2 days.
