POETRY DECLAMATION 1e
Julien Bergère came to declaim poems by Charles Baudelaire and Arthur Rimbaud to the students in 1e , as part of the French Baccalaureate program on 19th century poetry.
The declamation of texts is an important part of the program, since reading aloud is graded on the day of the oral exam. In addition to the exams, the aim of the performance was to give students the opportunity to hear and enjoy poetry.
After a 35-minute performance, the students themselves took part in a declamation workshop, during which Julien gave them invaluable advice on how to manage memory, expressiveness, appropriation of the text and stress. Many students then lent themselves to the game and came to declaim a poem by Baudelaire, Rimbaud or Apollinaire in front of the class, making beautiful verses resonate and bringing to life the greatest poems of French literature.
